A burst of happier views
The reports are full of death and despair
Higher radiation levels in the air
Now snow is falling over catastrophe
Nature trying to hide so we can't see
All the destruction Nature set to be
A balance being sought by our Gaia host
Had enough of freeloaders damaging the world
With shakes and tremors tries to get us off
Doesn't realise the thousands killed
We replenish without trying at all
So many our breeding makes Gaia ill
Tomorrow more Gaia can slay
Our own petty disputes kill more every day
On roads and in cancer wards others die
Statistics of reflecting risks of how we live
Yet still we propagate positive
Breeding over edge of arable tracts
Consuming more than can be sustained
These dire facts clog my brain
The unsustainability of what we do
Fish from oceans vanish
Species not farmed become extinct
Droughts occurring with crushing regularity
How long till famine where never seen
Such vulgarity that we commit
An assisted suicide of the entire race
For a car burgers and a bigger house
So you can see how I need
To hear some good upbeat news
Microcosm joy to hide macro gloom
Express some happier views
Perhaps the snow can dampen
Radioactivity slowly rising
Maybe water levels are boring
But after floods more sustainable
Perhaps the rebuilding has already become
Show us hope for a better day
A hint we might decide to follow a better way.
