Everyday goddesses

* everyday goddesses *
How pleasant you sound
All legs and round vowels
A scent of exotic
Your perfume is tantalising
And you are surprising
The places you have been
Things you have seen
Views which you hold
A merging of cultures in your blood
And thoughts in your head
The old you retain
Without a worry how
It may not agree
With the modern philosophies
You espouse so enthusiastically
Your dress is short hemmed
And open to show
Your pride in your bosom
The perfection of snow
And skin rolled in butter
Smoothed and lathered over
A meal to be savoured
Such an appetite you engender
A proud statement of your gender
All of your wit intelligence and grit
All of your modern ancientness resplendent
And I place my order
Go back to the conversation
As you go to get me
My coffee and toast.
