Summer heat

* Summer heat *
Light bridges street
Thoroughfare of Summer heat
Ghost shadows pursue our footsteps
Angles consistently industrial blend
As buildings our horizons perch
On edge of street rivers black
We are the current flowing
Flotsam and jetsam of city
Worker bees out of our hives
Seeking luncheon sustenance
Our clocks set to human tides
As Summer sun hammers pavement
Knocks our city anvil flat
We no more than beads of sweat
On the great smithy's back.
