Snow time

*+-_ Snow Time _-+*
I can't hold a snowflake
Melts too soon against my skin
But make good with fistful of snow
Which is of greater benefit
For snowflakes too slight to throw
Need an accumulation of snowflakes
In a lump formed
To make a decent snowball
To hold lightly in your hand
Then find the right moment
Send missile on its way
Imagine you are David facing Goliath
Or a meteor about to strike
And heft the snowball upward
And send it towards the bike
A difficult shot for sure
A moving target almost out of sight
Watch the arched trajectory
Physics at its best
A most elegant equation
Speed and arch and time
The weight and shape of snowball
In your thoughts did all combine
Then a message sent from your brain
To your arm to throw
All these ideas race through your head
As see the snowball flow
Against gravity and wind resistance
Towards the point at which
It meets the cyclist's with a thud
Unexpectedness knocks cyclist's from their seat
And as they fall ground-ward
Into drift of snowflakes soft
Hear your laughter as you run off
Unable to hold a single snowflake
But many accurately you can toss.
