Signs of a shift from little girl
To hormone twisted teenage explorer
Challenger of status quo
Revolutionary against parental oppressers
Dreamer with a tongue of scorn
Idealist and non-believer
All the contradictions sided
By another contradiction leaping
Certain of everything and nothing
Lethargic with bursts of energy phenomenal
This is where she stands in journey's path
Neither completely there
Or halfway back to start
Adult thoughts in a child's body
In conflict ever with child thoughts in an adults body
This is the person still exploring
Deploring world and accepting world
All the world hers to take
And not ever sure its worth the price of admission.
