Grumpy heart words

*grumpy heart words*
There are protests my heart demands
Are made clear to all I know
A despair at lack of civility
The seeming ignorance of fairness prevails
In every city on every footpath
If you walk 5 abreast
Leave a space through which others can move
And if a bus or train or tram stops
Don't try and get on till you have let the others off
Don't natter loudly on your phone in a public place
For usually your life is such a bore
As for swearing with every second word
It is not tough or show street smarts
Merely reflects your general boorishness
And if you want to get insensible early in the day
Stink of beer and cigarettes and urine foul
Do not be surprised if other object
Personal hygiene is not something you should ever stop
If you are driving inattentively
Relying on all around to watch out for you
Expecting them to have abilities of telepathy
To know you are turning when you don't indicate
Or going straight through a STOP sign because you are late
Then their reaction is not road rage
It is an expression of their distaste
To be involved with such a waste of living space
And though you may not care
For the darling children over whom you watch
The dirt and general noise they bring
Stench of nappies unchanged
Is not something others need to bear
Be prepared to tell them no
And take them out of the cinema if they scream
Think of others around you who paid
To hear your swearing shushing screaming words
When they expected to hear what was on the screen
Live your life as if
A community large we all are
A community who if good manners show
Will be so much more pleasant to bear.
