Golden Age

* Golden Age *

Kings in Italian suits
Arbitrage is their force
A penny difference seen
A penny difference gained
Hedge the buys with sells
Spread the equities deep
As manure applied to the CDO compost heap
Bet on government mistakes
Black Swan events likely
Bring down a government today
Set in place a dictatorship
At least they will get the bananas out
And if you gamble wrong
The government will bail you out
For you are to big to ever fail
So take your golden handshake
And start all over again
Tip the waiters and menial staff
Pat them gently on the head
Send them back to paupercy
And mortgages foreclosed upon
Soon all the jobs will be offshore
And they can't afford your education
Building a permanent underclass
To clean your pools and cut the grass
As high above in Versailles luxury
You live the life of dreams
Now recall how all Golden Ages
Tend to end by guillotine.
