Winter present

** winter present **
The skies are low and heavy
Over local borough of Richmond
Spires of steeples catch
Slow moving weather above
Which in raining makes self known
Every commoner is crowned
A sparkling dancing jewelled fringe
From drops of rain coming down
Air is cold and slicing
Through heated bodies well wrapped
Leveraging out the warmth trapped
Replacing with cooler airs
Chills fingers nose and hair
This is Winter present
A season without resentment
Occurring in its own time
Brushing free city grime
From windows high and haunted
By remembrance of Summer laughter
As we know seasons come after
These times of rain and wind.
