A migration daily

** a migration daily *
The day has begun
Stocking legs sit straight
As rocking train rambles
Onward to destination
A metallic voice announces each station
We still dozing pay no heed
So many years has worn a rut
Deep into our psyche
We know when our station is
Which carriage in which to sit
Perhaps a favourite seat to occupy
For each this journey seems perpetual
Our Sisypeanan effort each and every day
No rock have we or vultures ravenous
Just a business role to play
And a mortgage for which to provide
We wind ourselves up each morning
Join the migrating multitude
From the land of suburbia
To the business districts far away.
