Looking up

** Looking Up **
In clouds across the sky
Channels cut deep
Furrows burrowed
And clouds gathered and piled
Into heaps like autumn leaves
This is the sky-sea planes cross
Beyond which lies the Sun
Celestial orb magnificent
Blessing us with warmth and light
Kindly benefactor of our world
Sitting in the Goldilocks zone
Where it is neither too hot nor cold
As we orbit this fusion heating star
Now I am a earth bound being
No wings to avail myself for flight
No way to break gravity's might
So beneath the sky I sit
And often wonder to myself
If I could pilot a craft
Through the channels in clouds
Across the furrows
And around the heaps of clouds
Gathered together like autumn leaves.
