The drowsy drift

* the drowsy drift *
This rattling rhythm
This seat on moving train
Lulls me to Morpheus's palace
As sky is flocked with grey cloud
Sun made dull by its absence
Entire world in a dowdy cloth presides
Over wet footpaths and rain-drop weighted trees
My eyes in empathy slide shut
Shutters seal on soul's pools
I begin to drowsy drift
Place and time are removed
I am of sleep and at sleep and in sleep
There is no outward exploration
My mind turns upon itself in dreams
As train rolls rhythm across sleepers and full of sleepers
On a dull cloud locked sun shrouded Autumn morn.
