Winter day cold

- Winter Day Cold -
The taunting surrounding chill
Hands feel as if dipped into fridge
Searching for last ice cream
Stuck at back of freezer compartment
The wind draws freezing dagger cross my face
Cheeks feel as if slapped
By a duel seeking knight
Who desires some right of honour restored
My eyes are dead to horizon
Dullness reflected of these winter tones
Any splash of colour leaps out
Even a weed bursting through train track gravel
All body feel kiss of ice
The lumpy winter inactivity
Fervent desire to seek out hibernation
Till world brightens and warms once more.
