Why words laid down

** why words laid down **
These words composed to distract
Intention to subtract negativity
Allow to flow outwards sense of down
How dire feels the world
Chill and cold of those around
Exile and sense of detachment
Of a lost soul wavering
Almost drowning trying to be floating
Laying down words as lily pads back
A fragile bridge returning from
Edge of disaster and despair
The edge of the always dangerous nowhere
Where dwells the nihilism of hope
An evaporation of all which is self
Leave a vacancy and nothingness
A dry husk of humanity
Empty vessel which might echo loudly
Reflect harsh sounds of life's chill winds
Instead in counterpoint form these words
To block the holes which leak so sorely
The sense of life lived poorly
In intellectual challenge of
A thread of thought to be solved
Escape the dark depths to which might sink
If I refused to try and refused to think
Rise and glide away
Splash and struggle and swim
From these words a rope ladder form
To escape the mire in which I churn.
