Predator birds in our pastures
We read our civilisations as being just
Balanced fairly over these years
By democratic institutions and rule of law
We ignore the fact much wealth was made
On the weakness of others who might contest
That those who might be compete
Realise to win they would need to defeat
Gunboat diplomacy and bombs in the street
Now boot on other foot rests
A country with population overbearing
Is the same technology creating
How then to hold the lines
Keep the borders safe
When outnumbered and out gunned
Our markets we try and defend.
