Still wanting to be Clancy

** still wanting to be Clancy **
Lost tracks ploughed deep
By disillusioned sons of farmers
Given to expect golden city streets
Discovered serfdom of the Romanov's still exists
Chained by materialism taught
How an education would raise them higher
Discovered education perverted could achieve golden greed
Calculate the shift in markets
Write a prospectus to make a sow's ear a silk purse
Use all manner of intelligence and initiative
In the conning of your fellow businessman
If they have the cunning they will see your traps
And if not then simple market evolution occurs
The not fast enough bright enough mean enough
Are banished from the market
Extinction is the result
A dog eat dog mentality
Breeding efficiency of shark proportions
A never sleeping killer always grazing for next meal
And all is good till you become the mark
The market will eat its own as readily as strangers
Those jaws which consume can take you
And so erudite and mathematically bright
These sons of the land discover
They have not the strength of their fathers
The farm life is not for them
Chewed up and spat out by city market
They can remove to life they knew
Having been trained for this life new
A life in which they must fail
A life which no joy to soul brings
Those new serfs of the cash book and the journal
Those day dreaming fellows Lawson once knew.
