Speed of visions end

* Speed of visions end *
The enquiring glance
The sweeping appraisal
Are decisions made that swiftly
On whom or what or when
Has all history been subjected to
The subjective two second view
Casual speed of decision making
Of Homo-erectus triumphant
Top dog on this planetary lump
At peak of food chain
And yet the future is in thrall
Of this speed judging howl
An instinct evolutionary
To sustain us in epoch revolutionary
Is our world to be lost
For we would not pause in decisions rush
To count the cost of decisions wrong
Endanger all with our short-sightedness
For all our intellect and potential
In our own extinction instrumental.
