When should you take another leap of faith
Reject safety inherent in the manifesto's strictures
Cast yourself upon those moving shoals
Of enigmatic people involving themselves
In the dancing conversational body politic
Of this party where you have been cast adrift
Might it take alcohol or desperation
Or a fermented brew of both
To send you veering forth to commune
Abandoning The Wallflower Manifesto
And who will you be then
A recidivist against all for which you stand
Someone not yourself till you infatuate
And so claim object of your desire
With success achieved you can safely re-assume
The politics and guiding path of your life
