Down with Rom and Jules

* down with Rom and Jules *
Romeo and Juliet
Those star crossed lovers had it easy
All the excuses in the world
To act upon hormone charged impulses
Such fickle hearts they both possessed
Ready at a moment to say this love is the best
And all the barriers put between
Only inspired deeper this must be heart's desire
Against their families simple to rebel
As every teenager knows so well
Best to raise arms in conflict against
Those who despite all your faults love you back
Then the melodramatic theatre of their plans
Plots and potions and secret weddings
Acts of children without a brain
Playing at romance not knowing pain
Eventually their recklessness condemns them both
To self execution when they lose the plot
By mis-communication do each other in
Verona was probably a much safer place
When these two impetuous lovers
No more those narrow streets did grace.
