*of other primates*
It can be so damn annoying
How deficient world is of commonsense
Seems the world prefers chaos and disorder
For evolution to lean towards failure
Catastrophe to be the sermon preached
Yet should we expect otherwise
Life even lived intelligently is fraught with danger
More often we cannot quantify risks
Let alone actually find a solution to avoid them
Our implicit covenant with society
To try and avoid wreaking havoc on our fellows
Conflicts with our own internal hard wiring
Regarding self preservation and advancement
Of the organism most dearest to ourselves
That being of course our very own self
Still I yearn for more thought
As ill mannered seem to be taught
Hasty mindless action without thought
Is best manner in which to live
In a complex mechanised society
With other primates who are as dull
In projecting eventual conclusion
Of electrical appliances and bathwater
Or wet roads and excessive horsepower
At least it clears the decks
Of those foolhardy souls ridiculous
For whom commonsense is not ubiquitous.
