Folding Time

*+* folding Time *+*
A folding in of Time
Diminishment of Space
Gradually we vanish
Between the creases of mortality
Eternity is not for us
Our thoughts cannot capture
Therefore we do not deserve
The poisoned chalice reward
Of life beyond our mortal term
For as we wear and time concludes
Weariness of sinew and energy
To entrophy we descend
Not to death but stillness
And then the universe works on us
We break down and succumb
To the inevitable demand for our atoms
Leached off us and diluted across
The universe infinite
And in this way we capture eternity
Or in eternity we are captured.
