Which truths we stretch
The failing elastic
Of trust in our lives
No longer open to share
The fall is painful
The contentment non-existent
Is this weather or mood
Age reflection or depression
Chemical imbalance or need for psychoanalysis
When thoughts wedge
Beneath weight of inability
To dictate life as expected
The rejected fundamentals
Knowing if not carrying the torch
Would have fallen long ago
Allowed waves to drag you under
And nay a ripple of your life be seen.
