New time marks old time world
Implies a change in attitude
We are re-inventing the isms
Fatalism to such words I apply
A cynicism bred from other times
When the changes have been rung
As bell pullers in a belfry
Not seeing outward effect of noise
How bell tolling makes people move
So it seems with the clamour makers
They state the world is being
The way they state it will be
When in fact the world is as
The world ever has been
Their declarations so empty
Of fire or brimstone or relevance
Old world still outlasts new
New world shine soon rubs off
To reveal old world solid and true
As always was and always will.
