Why poeticize

Why poeticize

 * why poeticize *
Why write the words
How do you visualise them
As stains seeping into porous skin
Tattoos of your thoughts
Or something more valiant
With virtues endowed
Not advertising or tabloid banter
Neither loose fiction or bald fact
A knightly grouping of words
Each poem a roundtable
All sentences equal
Speak of the echoes
Behind words and behind night
Something magnificent unseen
A glorious grail only hinted at
Words rise now galvanised
Those used by unwashed all
In statements of businessmen
Or filched from gutter school brawl
Those words are appraised
Given new value unique
Allocated and placed
Be both strong and be meek
Tell of all our dreams
Our flaws and our strengths
Walk all the byways
We never would have tried
Guide our minds illuminated
To secrets sacred and divine
The poetry of lovers
Poems of revolutionary acts
Odes to simple vessels
Psalms god given contracts
All of them written
By men and women natural
Nothing godlike in there actions
They were as we are
Can reach across centuries
Or minutes to eagerly twist
Our thoughts to new horizon
Rolling waves kissing yellow beach
Rumble of traffic heavy
Images small through viewfinder
When displayed and examined
Suddenly grow vast
These poetic thoughts arrayed
Lances set now for charge
Horses nervously stepping
From one hoof to the other
Waiting the final order
To glory or slaughter
So always the way
When poetry placed in waiting
For passing reader to read.
