Foolishness

Foolishness

 * foolishness *
Foolish enough to care
For starving orphans distant
On a completely different continent
While cynically acknowledging
Most of any donation
Pays for charity administration
And that which finally arrives
Fills the pockets of bureaucrats
And political representatives
Of the country to which aid is sent
Would it not be better cleaner
To suspend all aid completely
Store the wheat and aid
Upon our fine uncorrupted shore
Allow instead famine and war
To decimate them all
Cut back to numbers manageable
And then we could explore
The courses to restore
A civilised form of giving
A sustainable form of living
Not based on guilt or laws
Removed from filthy political paws
Where what is best for all is considered
And a life worth living not just existing is delivered.
