dark room analysis

dark room analysis

* dark room analysis *

Dark room analysis
Keep reaching out blindly
Until a discovery is made
Whether with flailing hands
Or brittle shin or bruised knee
Perhaps this is a chair
Or a low sharp edged coffee table
Or a relationship ill made
Bumping into people as blind
Flailing about as bravely and madly
Sometimes hysterically and sadly
Not recognising whom we strike
Unsure if we should in this escape
Beyond our blind lonely solitude
Not even knowing what we are reaching for
Just knowing being with another
Might make this blind searching better
And then they move on or we do
Return to stumbling swearing crashing
Across darkened room of life
Trying to find a reason of fulfilment
Which has escaped that singing lass
A meaning for a meaningful life
Trying to grab anyone who does step
And pause in meeting us
Thankful for some human company
Fellow traveller in secret society of love
Wondering if they love the person I am
Or the person they project upon me in the dark
Do any of us ever know
Peel back the central core of the kernal
Of the other who we encounter
To know them as well
As they think they know themselves
All before the final parting
On the other side of the darkened room
An exit here of which we knew
And now we are before it
What comfort found in life's room
Shall be relevant beyond
Hands waving frantically
A final breath then silence
And we pass beyond life
To begin another dark room analysis.
