City blah

City blah

*+ city blah *+
Pressing out from streetscapes
Residing suffocating between
Generic boxes of steel and class
Older classical buildings reside
Made up to be from ancient times
Facades of curves pillars and dimensions
Not flat botoxed appearance
Devoid of character or grace
Not a Bauhaus relic
Where function conquers form
Where streetscape dumbed down
By architects with sliderules
Who in any other century
Would be gluing together matchboxes
In a factory full of sulphur
A role safely suited to their lack of spark
Repetitive and without beauty
As the designs they propagate
Along our city streets and roads
A sterile unnatural angular affront
To our human sense of perspective
To the world in which we live.
