Arctic Blues

Arctic Blues

* Arctic Blues *
Lost walruses
Out past the Arctic blue
The paralysis of cold
Chill fingers of forget
Here in white wastelands
Where seasons merge
As a great fog of ice
Here where calving bergs
Show no milk of kindness
Stoving in hulls of wooden ships
The boats they try and sail
Out beyond the shore
Towards the Winter dream
Which is where they once were
Cosy with family and friends
This land a tortured prison
For Franklin and his starving men
The NorthWest passage lies not here
Only snow and ice and polar bear.
