Here floating
Sun's warmth enchanting
Such joy in each breath
Powered by life
Perfected by living
Sipping sugary sap of doing
Raised in expectation
Of always greater and better
The future an uncharted land
Of wondrous occurrences and tidings
Little surprise upon arrival
Fatigued by journey
A sense of disappointment
Expectations dashed on reality's rocks
So grows the cynic in us all
Though Sun still shines
Breath still joyous taken
From the living doing world.
