Templated

* templated *
How you equate your life
To signposts in your mind
By those who maintain their hold
Through the hours of daily grind
Be born attend your kindergarten
School and university pursue
Entry level jon at a large corporate
Safe indenture of your time
A salary just sufficient to
Allow you to buy a house
Or rent and family support
While always dangling carrot
A little more effort
And a slightly larger reward
If prepared to spend the time
In servitude to company laws
Change from one company to another
Different street address
Same taking of your lifetime
To accrue the dollars and cents
For a subsistence existence
When unable any more to work
When your bones truly ache
All thoughts are slow to reach
And what you are is not who you were
Even memories in your mind
Dying and fading out of reach
A life spent living the life they said
The life you had to live
Stable and orderly and neat
Work between certain hours
Sleep when it is dark
Do not oppose the lifestyle
Taught for milleniums
To peasants planting seeds
To seasonal events
The life you lead imposed
Through template in your head.
