set self a sorry start

* set self a sorry start *
Starts are often easier
Than endings presented
A no escape finality
Annihilation of heart
Taste of ashes in your mouth
Mounds of sadness weigh you down
All those former smiles
Bent askew to support a frown
Maybe would have been better
If never started at all
Allowed self to instead wonder
Of how hard the heart would fall
Instead of seeking goddesses
Seek someone much easier
To leave or cease involvement with
A token of affection
Which would not maim the heart
When they choose to leave.
