Sleepwalkers of Summer

** Sleepwalkers of Summer **
These long summer nights
Blue stretched lycra sky
Swollen Sun uninhibited beaming
We beneath bugs on the grill
Roads weep tears of tar
Dogs exhale noisily beneath bushes
Birds try to avoid flying
An oven heat consumes the air
Heavy in limbs and drowsy in mind
Sleepwalkers of Summer stumble
Ever onward in search of satisfaction
Wanting to live this time
Cavort and frolic in perspiring air
Be unbound unwound and free
For know beyond Summer heat
Closed doors and shutters of Winter cold.
