Illusions of Breakfast **

** Illusions of breakfast **
There is no delicious lightness of being
When confronted with a prepaid morning buffet
There is a sense of gravity
Never before marked in normal life
A questioning of capacity
Of what is ample for desires
When does enthusasism become gluttony
Taste become gastronomic suicide
As the plates pile up and each bain marie sampled
Bacon follows toast follows hash browns
Washed down with juices coffee tea and milk
Till aching towards cliche
A Mr Pompadu movement beckons
When epidermis will no longer stretch
And the entire taut balloon convulses
In an explosive failure.
