True politician

* true politicians *
Certainty uncertainty
Spinning tops and rails
All the horses fall
A true politician never fails
Is the fault of those
Who carried out commands
Winston's bloodied failures at Gallipoli
Those who failed Hitler at Stalingrad
All those little men who could not
Live up to the expectations
Of the politicians supreme
When a rail project goes over budget
Or a computer system breaks
The politicians know where to look
At the workers who got no thanks
Those same politicians keen to rub
Themselves against golden winners
In the pool or on the track
Who through their own efforts won
Shed their sweat and blood
As if the politician by virtue
Of a finishing line embrace
Was a vital component
When the winner won the race
Instead of a distraction
Which cheapens the celebration
And if the result is less
Than a win or a top three place
Politicians not be seen
For such results a disgrace
All the effort and sweat for nought
And politician does not care
Only cares for winners
Those who achieve and need no help
Everyone else a hindrance
In the politicians vision
If could automate the certainty
Remove human uncertainty
Imbue robots with the vision
Encapsulated on a politician's lip
Then always there would be the chance
All things most righteous be
And a politicial dictatorship arise
Whose benevolence or otherwise
Be evidenced for all to see
Howver the jumps are always far to tall
The horses always fall
And a true politician never ever fails.
