Easy courses of thinking
As water simple solutions sought
What we see and consider
Dictates the thoughts expressed
Ideas born from environment
Only environment we know exists
So blinkered strive to think anew
Of from whence life
What shapes and existence it could be
A world of water dominated as is ours
Produces a water based creature
If water were not our habitat
Instead sand or sulphur or gas
From that what would evolution mould
Silicone based lifeforms propogating
Communication via electric clicks
A hierarchy of evolution based upon
One grain met another
Animated by a hidden soul
A consciousness not found or weighed
Shot through with same desires as ourselves
To grow and thrive and create
Would they dream of us
Or have imaginations like ourselves
Bound by environment and fate.
