Future promises swept away
Mental framework of the future dismissed
Suddenly a present unsympathetic
How long did they know
About the farce you were playing
I an unwitting participant
In this travesty of a relationship
Did they think I gave tacit acceptance
For humiliation you dealt
All those kisses past grow rancid
Embraces toxic to my soul
I would wish you dead
Except such a death lessen me
Diminish the joy I shall have
At watching you choke
On the happiness I know will be mine
As karma rewards this innocent participant
In our marriage's demise.
